Did you ever thought about why every year cold climates are much cooler and warm climates are hotter? This is due to a global issue called climate change, which threatens all life on the Earth. This process has devastating effects in the present, which intensify each second. That is why we must change our mindset and start to repair the damage we have done to our home; the Earth. It is widely known how harmful climate change is. Animals and plants face new challenges, as their survival depends on this issue. This is due to more frequent and intense drought, melting glaciers (which cause a rise in sea levels) and the warming of oceans as these problems can directly harm the animal kingdom. Moreover, humans are also affected as climate change causes dangerous weather disasters (such as hurricanes, wildfires, droughts and floods) to become more severe and frequent. This is a one minute talk about the school:    Hello, my name is Mayra. I am a student at Newlands School. Not like in other schools, we spend 8 hours a day here, except for Saturdays and Sundays. In my opinion, it’s exhausting to be 8 hours at school and, even after, having to do homework at my house. We have 18 subjects. My favourite one is maths because everything makes sense in it. On the contrary, I hate sports because we do Hockey and I’m not good at it. Also, we can’t use any clothes we want at school, we have to use the uniform. Moreover, the school is bilingual, as a second language, we study English. This is because although it’s easy to communicate in our mother language, that alone is not enough in today’s world, and English is the most used language in the world.

On ELT Speaking we did a dialogue about two friends who are talking about an exchange program one of them is going to do. We had to include why they match up(personality, likes, dislikes and hobbies) and a short presentation about our country(places, customs, food, family traditions, free time).
